Rod Land - Retro-Bit Publishing - Jaleco

A JALECO CLASSIC FINALLY RELEASES IN NORTH AMERICA!

Originally released in arcades in 1990, Rod Land became a memorable single-screen platformer.  Jaleco wanted to bring their new hit over to the West with their main publishing partner porting it to a series of home consoles and PCs all over Europe such as the Amiga, Spectrum ZX, and Commodore 64.  Soon after, they would also publish PAL NES® and Game Boy® in Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands in 1992.  By this time, the SNES® and SEGA Genesis® were all the rage in North America and Europe so these ports of Rod Land would never release.  We're glad to bring back this fun arcade hit for everyone to enjoy this magical title!

Media Reception

"Rod Land went from a game I had never heard of to a new favorite. I enjoyed my run and can see myself returning to it years from now. This version is expensive due to its limited release but is worth it if you can find it at a decent price even next to the arcade game."

"Having never played the coin-op, I came fresh to Rod Land on the NES.  The gameplay is fun and the graphics, although sparse, are appealing."

- Gus [Dec. 1992]

Nintendo Magazine System

"There’s 31 tough scenes and four big bosses to beat so it’ll keep most platformers occupied for many an hour.  In a nutshell, [Rod Land] is fun for all the family and definitely a title to keep an eye out for."
