When the lands of Arcus are threatened by Castomira, a once-vanquished dark sorceress who is using magic to remake the world in her own design, it is up to four brave heroes to battle through eight fantasy stages to thwart her evil plans. Play as Jeddah the swordsman, Erin the warrior maiden, Diana the elven archer, and Bead the dark mage in this critically-acclaimed adventure game that was originally released on SEGA Genesis® and the Japanese Mega Drive in 1991. Three decades later, the game has become a cult classic that continues to attract new fans with its fast-paced action and intense two-player questing.

Returning to America 35 years after it first debuted, this limited-edition Arcus Odyssey release from Retro-Bit® Publishing will include a reversible cartridge inlay sleeve, featuring both the American and Japanese designs. Also included is the Luminous Amber 16-bit cartridge and full-color instruction manual, as well as an individually-numbered embellished slipcover.

Enter the surreal world of Psycho Dream, a dystopian version of the 1990s where D Movies are all the rage, trapping the innocent youth in a nightmare-fueled virtual reality. Developed by Riot, this is a high-energy side-scrolling action game where Ryō Shijima and Maria Tobira are tasked with saving a heartbroken teenage girl from sinking ever deeper into one of these deadly movies.

First published in Japan in 1992, Psycho Dream will be making its North American and European debut on cartridge this year, complete with a brand-new localization and translation by Nathan Deren. This collector’s edition release will also include a numbered deluxe hardcover package, an embellished slipcover, a full-color instruction manual, and an Azure Visions 16-bit cartridge.
“We’re thrilled to kick off 2026 with a pair of true hidden gems from Renovation,” explains Richard Igros, Director of Marketing at Retro-Bit. “Unfairly overlooked back in 1991, Arcus Odyssey mixes action with epic fantasy dungeon crawling to create an unforgettable adventure with levels and bosses so intense that you’re going to need to enlist a second player for help. Speaking of unforgettable, that is just one of the many words that perfectly describes Psycho Dream, a hallucinatory fever dream of a game that throws players into a weird and wildly creative world with surprises in every stage. Canceled right before it was set to be released outside of Japan, we’re excited to finally bring Psycho Dream to the Super NES® for the first time in North America and Europe in this limited-edition physical release.”

Today’s announcement marks the eighth collaboration between Retro-Bit® Publishing and Renovation, starting back in 2021 with the release of Gaiares on the SEGA Genesis® and Mega Drive. Other 16-bit releases include El Viento, Sol-Deace, and the Valis Collection, the 2022 collector’s edition box set featuring Valis: The Fantasm Soldier, Syd of Valis, and Vallis III.

Pre-orders for both Arcus Odyssey on Genesis/Mega Drive and Psycho Dream on SNES are available now, individually, and will run through May 24 at both Retro-Bit® Publishing’s website and participating retailers. Both games are priced at $59.99 in North America, $84.99 in Canada, and €69,99 in Europe.
